Other relevant details about the position.: The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd is part of the Delaware-Maryland Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We have two worship services on Sunday 8:30am & 11:00am, and one on Wednesday at 6:45pm. Adult vocal choir at 11:00 service and rehearses on Wednesday evenings. Handbell choir plays at Sunday services once a month and has rehearsal on a weekday evening. Other relevant details about the position. : Organist plays for 8:00 a.m. service and 11:00 a.m. service with choir. In the summer, 11:00 & 9:30 services are combined to one 10:00 service. Every other Sunday is traditional and requires the organist. In addition, to Sunday mornings, Organist plays for major Christian Holy Days and special services. Position is under direction of, and in collaboration with the traditional choir director. Organist has first refusal of all weddings and funerals at a separate fee.

Other relevant details about the position.: The Organist is responsible for providing musical accompaniment for the choirs and congregation of Loch Raven UMC. Responsibilities include the accompaniment of all musical rehearsals, choir performances, and all worship services by playing the organ/piano throughout the year. Rehearse with and accompany all soloists and ensembles scheduled throughout the year. Substitute for the Music Director as needed. Play for funerals, memorial services, and weddings being held at Loch Raven UMC when requested.
